Pomac Forest

This part of our website contains in depth studies of particular ancient sites. Some ancient monuments were specifically used to measure solstices. In these cases we show the most probable use of such monuments. Other large sites with multiple monuments show signs of reorientation. In these cases we look at the correlations between reorientation and the position of the ancient geographic poles I to V. And if they match we have found the most likely age of these ancient monuments, because the chances on coincidental matches are very small.

In this article we will zoom in on Pomac Forest.

Deep Excavations at Pomac Forest

Fig. 1: Archaeologists call the culture that is excavated at Pomac Forest the Sican people. It is generally believed that the excavations you are looking at on the bottom are just a few thousand years old. If that would be true, skeletons of Neanderthals would be lying at a depth of more than 250 feet. And skeletons of dinosaurs could only be found at a depth of more than 40 miles, where they would be completely crushed by the pressure, and would never come to the surface. That is obviously not the case. The deepest dinosaur find ever is not more than 1.5 miles deep and is around 200 million years old. Dinosaur bones are usually found at not more than a half a mile deep, so they can get to the surface when ground layers are tilted. The build up rate of dense soil in areas like Peru are around 4 feet per 100,000 years. Only the upper (undisturbed) inches are from the last few thousand years.

What is Pomac Forest?

Pomac Forest is a woody area of around 15 square miles in the North of Peru. As you probably know is Peru well known for the enormous amounts of antique monuments. Wikipedia is almost silent about Pomac Forest. Other sources say it’s a historic sanctuary that was under the reign of the Lord of Sican. No one really knows what Pomac Forest is or was.

They say the so called Sican people lived in this area, whatever that name “Sican” means. There are sources who say there were over 30 pyramids in this area. But we could only find 5 of them. There are no detailed maps available of the area with the pyramids on it, so we’re depending of satellite footage of the area. That appeared to be enough to draw detailed conclusions.

Heavily Eroded Hills

Fig. 2: From the ground these structures look like hills. You hardly recognize them as man-made. Only satellite footage gives clearer view on the situation and on their orientation.

From the ground the pyramids of Pomac Forest just look like hills. Heavily eroded hills. You hardly recognize them as human-made structures.

Only from satellite imagery do their pyramid shape become more apparent. We looked at their orientation pattern and it appears that they are all clockwise oriented and were oriented to different pole positions.

Pomac Forest appears to be reoriented after each crustal deformation cycle.

Clockwise Orientations

Fig. 3: An overview of the orientations of the 5 pyramids of Pomac Forest. All 5 structures are clockwise oriented and they are also not extremely clockwise as we would expect when we look at the position of Pomac Forest in regard to the path of the pole.

Five Pyramids Oriented to Ancient Poles

The location of Peru compared to the path of the pole I to V is such that if there are reorientations of certain monuments, their reorientation angles are small. The full range of the poles I to V is within an angle of only 23°. Our method predicts a narrow angle of reorientations and that is exactly what we’re seeing at Pomac Forest.

Furthermore are the orientations of the pyramids matching the pole positions, which means that the probability that Pomac Forest actually follows the path of the pole is fairly high.

When we perform probability calculations the poles that are not matching with Pomac Forest, like Pole I, must always be included in the calculations otherwise would we be following the whims of the day or things we prefer to believe. We must always include all the 5 poles in our probability calculations. Because pole II is hidden behind Pole III (seen from the perspective of Peru) we cannot distinguish with absolute certainty to which pole the 7° pyramid is oriented. We suspect it was Pole II. However, this uncertainty suppresses the probability calculations significantly.

Measuring the structures is a very precise undertaking. For example, on top of the monument that is oriented at 7° there is a narrow pathway that is slightly more counterclockwise oriented than the structure itself. It is crucial not to follow this pathway when measuring the monument. That is why we have drawn the yellow lines around the monuments that discerns the foundations as best as we possibly can.

We found also two pyramids that were oriented at two similar angles, +13° and +14°, both pointing to the same pole, Pole IV. This fact suppresses the probability calculations even further, because there is less differentiation.

Nevertheless, it is probable that the pyramids of Pomac Forest actually follow the path of the pole, and are thus incredibly ancient. There is very little doubt about what is true and what not.

Solstice angle Pole II, III, IV and V±23.6° (II), ±23.8° (III), ±24.4° (IV), ±25.9° (V) [2]
Solstice related constructions? Not examined. The claim of age is sufficiently proven. There is too little differentiation between the solstice angles and there is too little data on the pyramids to do serious research to a possible use of the pyramids.
Probability of Pole correlation, 2nd analysisNot increased: 98.8%
AgeThe original age of Pomac Forest is most likely between 210,000 (Pole III) and 345,000 (Pole V) years. Probability of the claim is 99.6%.[3]
Excavated?Yes, skeletons and artifacts of the so called Sican people have been excavated over several periods. Most of the excavations are recently done. It is undocumented whether the finds were done in disturbed ground layers (graves) or in undisturbed ground layers (very ancient).

Updates and New insights About Pomac Forest

[1]: In our method we have proven that a square or rectangular building can be only uniquely oriented 45° clockwise and 45° counterclockwise. From the perspective of Pomac Forest there is a 11.44% chance for one monument to “hit” one of the five poles by coincidence if the builders just oriented a monument haphazardly or to conform to local geography.

[2]: The distances between the location of Pole I, II, III, IV, and V and the location of Pomac Forest results in another solstice angle from what we have today. That means, according to our method, that the solstice angles should be checked with key dimensions of a structure. The solstice angle is calculated from the ancient latitude with the formula: asin(sin(tilt spin axis)÷cos(latitude)).

[3]: Where does the number 99.6% come from? This is the most conservative probability for the pole sequence I to V to match the ice core data. We have presented higher numbers than this, but because this is the most careful number, we decided to use this probability. We have calculated the ages of the poles by using ice core data from Antarctica.
