Palmyra

It is believed that Palmyra is a structure or a city from the so-called Neolithic period. That might be partially true for the structural top layers of the structures. It is not true for the original foundations.

Large parts of Palmyra were destroyed by ISIL in recent years. We might assume that this was not the first time in history that this happened. However, we have seen this pattern of destruction and reconstruction, and the subsequent reclaiming of the entire city as a complete own achievement as if it was built from scratch. The Romans, Greeks, Chinese, and many other cultures were masters in twisting the historical facts. And with every reformation, more of the original information is gone. Archaeologists have not been able to pierce through this web of deception, they just go along with it, even reinforcing the lies which they then wrap up in stories and pseudo scientific methods.

Our Proposed Time Frame Exceeds Archaeological Imagination

Finding out what is 100% true, what could be true, and what is 100% false appears to be very difficult in most cases. Hundreds of thousands of years of Human history leaves so many traces that only mathematics at the most abstract level can tell us something useful. But it is utterly impossible to translate this abstract information back to rulers, kings, cultures, or certain peoples. It is also impossible to tell if it were Homo erectus, Neanderthals, Homo sapiens, elongated skulls, or maybe even aliens who originally built these cities. We provide a very long framework of time in which certain cities were built, renovated, and even rebuilt on the old foundations.

A time frame of hundreds of thousands of years is too much for most people and most scientists to wrap their collective heads around. Most people prefer to stick to a trail of families or empires who ruled in certain periods, and passed on their measuring stick to the next one.

Archaeology has in its research not yet exceeded the comprehensible personal level, i.e., it is possible to fill in a time frame of a few thousand years with a series of founders, rulers, kings, conquerors, losers, usurpers, and destroyers. But it is impossible to do this with a time frame of 400,000 years. Thus, archaeology is simply not ready to accept or to fill in this long and very abstract time frame of all sorts of two-legged species that we cannot give a name to.

Palmyra: A Glimpse at a Very Ancient City

Fig. 1: Palmyra is a large site, and this photo gives just a small impression. Palmyra has been visited by countless travelers and archaeologists throughout the centuries. Many excavations were done over a course of more than 150 years. Every excavation revealed new discoveries regarding the sophistication of this ancient city. Nobody ever raised the question that the age of the city might be completely wrong. The historical paradigm is seldom challenged.

Roman and Greeks are Champion Deceivers

Champions of the practice of fact changing are the Romans and Greeks. Their achievements are not built from scratch, not even in Rome or Athens. The Romans and Greeks took over older cultures, partially destroyed what they took over and rebuild with their own techniques on the ancient foundations. The feature that remained fairly intact in most cases was the orientation of the ancient original structure. And it is only this pattern that we have used to determine what actually happened in the very distant past.

We did not get lost in endless stories, because we took the immunity pill called mathematics.

There is not a single archaeologist who spend one pen-stroke on the orientation patterns of Palmyra. Why is that? Because the study of orientation of ancient structures is still unexplored terrain in science.

The first question that should lead us to wonder is: why are the orientations of the magnificent buildings of Palmyra such a mess?

Why Do the Pillars Look Newer Than the Base and the Top?

Fig. 2: This pattern seems to be typical for Palmyra. The pillars appear as if they are brand new while the top and base show marks of erosion. Why is that? Are they made from different materials? Or is this one of the typical renovations that the Romans have done? We do not know the answer, but it would be interesting if a graduate would pick up such a research topic.

Newer Constructions on Older Foundations

Fig. 3: Here we see that the structure seems to be built on top of an older foundation. It is certainly not claimed that it was the Romans that built on top of older foundations – we just can’t tell who did what. No one can. And because it is so frustrating to admit such ignorance, experts just come up with all sorts of speculations. But one thing is sure, there are clearly several layers of construction. For instance, the structure called the Temple of Bel is weirdly oriented at +4°. Why is it so oddly oriented? We suspect that this temple was built during Pole III which means that it could have been oriented to the Summer solstice during Pole III. When we reconstruct this situation we find that the orientation of this temple meets the requirements for this to be factual and true.

Palmyra’s Amphitheater

Fig. 4: Palmyra’s amphitheater is extremely counterclockwise oriented, and seems to correlate with the very ancient Pole VI. There is not a single archaeologist who spent a single pen stroke as to why this stadium could be oriented like this.

Why is the amphitheater of Palmyra oriented the way it is? The actors would be looking into a blinding scorching Sun when plays were performed in the afternoon. Or was this amphitheater originally oriented to another cardinal system in such a way that actors and audience were not hindered by a burning blinding Sun?

We have performed a detailed study regarding Palmyra and its wide variety of orientations, and concluded that this amphitheater was probably oriented to another cardinal system. Possibly to the cardinal system of Pole VI, which would make this amphitheater, as far as we currently know, one of the oldest in the world.

The spectators at the center were probably looking to the East and the actors were roughly looking to the West. This paints another perspective of the original use of this very ancient amphitheater.

Comparing With Another Amphitheater, the Colosseum

Fig. 5: This diagram shows how contemporary large stadiums are oriented. Most are cardinally oriented, or counterclockwise oriented between 15 and 30 degrees. Playing fields are often very smartly oriented so the playing field is optimally illuminated by the sun at a certain time of day with a minimum of shadow on the field.

Here comes another interesting part. The oval shaped Colosseum is differently oriented than the amphitheater of Palmyra, but it is oriented to the same proximity, that of Pole VI. That could be something coincidental, or on the other hand, it could suggest the true antiquity of these theaters and arenas.

The orientations of the various ancient buildings in Rome and in its entire empire are oriented at different angles, and someone could argue that the Romans were “just” doing their thing – anything or something. That is always the easy way out for scientists who simply don’t know the answers to difficult questions.

But do you really believe this to be the case for such a well-organized empire that took over large parts of the developed world for more than one thousand years? It truly makes sense that ancient Rome was built on much older foundations. We have already performed some studies regarding ancient Rome, and we will show our proof for this claim in the future.

The orientation of contemporary stadia teaches us something interesting. The majority are cardinally oriented or smartly oriented in such a way that the sun illuminates the “arena” as much as possible. Viewed from this perspective, the amphitheaters and arenas in the Roman empire were designed with superb insight.

Palmyra’s Amphitheater and the Colosseum Join at Pole VI

Fig. 5: Observations such as the intersection point of orientations between the Palmyra Amphitheater and the Colosseum are always interesting. Science has no answer to burning questions such as why the Colosseum is oriented the way it is. The intersection point of both amphitheaters in the area of Pole VI could be coincidence. That is always possible. But this has prompted us to gear up for a new project, namely to research the Roman Amphitheaters and how they relate to our discovered poles. The first results are mind blowing, and show that Roman theaters are not what they are believed to be. This research has never been done before, and is new to the world. I personally have the feeling that the ancient builders had this knowledge as well. We will publish the results in our Patron-only part on our website one of these coming months

AgeThe original age of Palmyra is uncertain. Some parts are between 330 and 345 ky old, while other, large parts of the site correlate with the very ancient but unproven Pole VI. The age of Pole VI is between 410 and 440 ky.
Excavated?Yes, Palmyra was the subject of endless excavations over more than a century. Excavations done in a barren environment such as Syria should always meet with raised eyebrows. How much organic material is there to build soil over only a few thousand years? In fact, excavations as done as in Palmyra are proof of an immense antiquity.

The Results

The orientation patterns at Palmyra are chaotic and they don’t relate, roughly speaking, to most of the orientation patterns that we find at other ancient sites on the Eastern hemisphere. Most structures of Palmyra are clockwise oriented. This indicates extreme age.

When we apply our probabilistic method to Palmyra we find a correlation between the orientations found at Palmyra’s orientation and the 5 pole positions of 82%. This straightforward probability is quite high, even without examining anything else.

Correlations with Pole VI are not included in this probability. That is because Pole VI is still an unproven pole. But when we include Pole VI in our calculations we find a probability of 96%.

We think that the amphitheater of Palmyra was originally built between 410,000 and 440,000 years ago. That is something that is very hard to wrap your mind around, because this begs the question: who were the people who built this? Were they of our species, Homo sapiens, or were they of another race, like Homo erectus? Truth is often harder to grasp than fiction.
